Started in 2009 as a pilot program with funding support from Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Internship Training Program is an advanced training institute combining theory and professionally supervised direct practice in the area of child sexual victimization. The training focuses on comprehensive trauma and abuse assessments and related intervention and treatment in this highly specialized area of practice.
The innovative, intensive curriculum was developed by the Council's Clinical Director, Nancy Falls, with the help of several of our Clinical Members and other experts in the field, and was piloted by this group. There were six graduates of the pilot Internship Program. Our sincere thanks to the Children's Aid Society of Hamilton, the Catholic Children's Aid Society of Hamilton, and the Regional Indian Centre for their support of the pilot.
